Code of Conduct

Our Client Partnership Principles · Last updated: 10 May 2026

How we work with our clients

At Blue Code Garden B.V. (trading as “Code Garden”) we believe great automation work is built on great relationships. This Code of Conduct sets out the principles that guide every engagement, from a one-off architecture review to a multi-year platform partnership. It applies to everyone working under the Code Garden name — employees, associates, and partners alike — and it is the standard we hold ourselves to with every client.

1. Long-term partnership over short-term wins

We optimise for the second decade of the relationship, not the first invoice. We will tell you when something is not worth building, when an existing tool already solves your problem, or when a smaller engagement is the better fit. Trust compounds; pushy upsells do not.

2. Extreme focus on your ROI

Every recommendation, sprint, and architecture decision is framed against the business outcome it is meant to deliver. We make the cost / value trade-off explicit, prefer the simplest solution that works, and stop work that no longer earns its keep. Your money is treated like our own.

3. Honesty over comfort

We say what we see. If a project is off-track, a deadline is unrealistic, a vendor is the wrong fit, or our own work is falling short, we raise it early and clearly — with a proposed path forward. Bad news travels fast at Code Garden.

4. Craftsmanship and modern engineering

We treat your platform as something we will be proud to hand over. That means clean models, well-tested code, sensible documentation, observable systems, and security and accessibility as first-class concerns — not afterthoughts. We use modern tooling and AI where it genuinely helps, and we stay accountable for every line that ships.

5. Knowledge transfer, not lock-in

Our goal is to make your team stronger, not more dependent on us. We pair, document, demo, and coach throughout the engagement so that your people can own, run, and evolve what we build together. You should always be free to walk away with everything we have made.

6. Data over opinions

Decisions are grounded in measurable signals: process metrics, usage data, performance numbers, error rates, conversion funnels, cost dashboards. We instrument what we build, share the dashboards openly, and let evidence — not the loudest voice — drive iteration.

7. Continuous improvement, together

We run frequent, lightweight retrospectives with our clients, not just inside our team. What worked, what hurt, what we should change next sprint. Improvement is a shared activity, and small, consistent steps beat big, occasional overhauls.

8. Confidentiality, security, and ethics

We treat everything you share with us as confidential by default. We follow least-privilege access, secure development practices, and the data-protection commitments described in our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. We will not take on work that requires us to act unlawfully, deceive end-users, or compromise their privacy.

9. Respect for people

We expect — and offer — professionalism, kindness, and inclusion in every interaction. Discrimination, harassment, and intimidation have no place in our work, in our team, or in the rooms we are invited into. We speak up when we see it.

10. Sustainable pace

Burned-out teams build fragile systems. We plan engagements so that our people and yours can deliver consistently over months and years, not just for one heroic sprint. Predictable output beats unpredictable heroics every time.

Questions or concerns

If anything in an engagement does not live up to these principles, please tell us. You can reach the Code Garden leadership directly at hello@codegarden.nl or via our contact page. Every concern raised under this Code of Conduct is taken seriously and treated confidentially.
